About the program
Un Sueño Que Construye Sueños
Alpha FC is an athletic club based in Pereira, founded in 2020 by Jorge Esteban Suárez and Andrea González Londoño. The club uses fútbol sala (soccer played on smaller, indoor-style courts) to help children and teens build physical skills alongside personal character.
Un Sueño Que Construye Sueños (A Dream That Builds Dreams) is a program co-designed with Powerful Children Colombia. Children receive equipment, uniforms, and regular training, along with support from a psychologist and nutritionist. Parents take part in their own sessions to bring that same support home.
Since its first phase in 2023, the program has grown and adapted based on where it's seen the strongest community engagement. Today, it reaches close to 200 children across five communities: Taparcal, Acacias, Málaga, Normandía, and Santa Rosa de Cabal, with more than 80% of participants staying engaged throughout, and families reporting positive changes at home. Some participants have gone on to represent their communities in regional and national competitions.
This latest phase also introduces Juventud con Futuro, a new track for teens ages 15 to 17 to help them explore their goals and next steps as they approach adulthood.
