Kathy was born in Bogotá, Colombia, and moved to the U.S. at age 12. She studied Finance, Communication, and Retail Studies at Santa Clara University. She worked in management consulting for a decade, helping organizations across the U.S. and U.K. through systemic cultural and organizational change. In 2016, as a self-taught DJ, she started an LA chapter of a grassroots organization focused on bringing more women, people of color, and LGBTQIA+ people into the music industry. That experience led her into a career in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, where she's led efforts at The Walt Disney Company and Netflix. She is currently a Senior Program Manager at Netflix, supporting the LATAM Talent leadership team in designing and implementing the region's Talent strategy.

Hannah was born in the U.S. to her American mother and Colombian father, who immigrated to the U.S. as a young adult. She served in the Jesuit Volunteer Corps and worked at nonprofits in Los Angeles and New York City serving individuals experiencing homelessness, survivors of domestic violence, sex trafficking, and related forms of gender violence, and individuals and families with low-income. She earned her M.Sc. in Global Affairs from New York University and her B.A. in theology and religious studies from the University of San Francisco. She currently works in philanthropy and serves as president-elect on the University of San Francisco Alumni Board and is a member of the Southern California Regional Council.

Johana is a native Colombian that moved to the U.S. as a teenager. She works in the Educational Services sector for an elementary school in a low-income community. Her students are incredibly resilient. This means they come to school with smiles and eagerness to learn despite the challenges they may already be facing at such a young age. She is inspired by this community to help make a difference in the lives of children and those around them. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, her three children, and her fur-baby. "I am a strong believer in the good we want to do with this organization. In creating a better future for the children of Colombia, to see children dream again and work towards living a better life."

Claudia is passionate about helping others. Born and raised in Colombia, she moved to the US at age 16 and pursued a career in Industrial Engineering. As an engineer, she has helped several world-renowned organizations to reach a higher potential through quality engineering, optimization, design, and automation of processes, and agile process/application architecture and development. She has always enjoyed mentoring and supporting others in the pursuit of a passion or a better quality of life. Claudia loves biking and has found in the sport a means to connect with herself and her surroundings and to continue to contribute to the betterment of the lives of those in need. Due to the pandemic, she had the opportunity to live in Colombia again and has now the privilege to be inspired daily by the beauty and potential of the children of her native land.

Born, raised, and a resident of Colombia with ten years of work experience in early childhood with vulnerable populations in different departments of Colombia. Adriana is an experienced professional in the field of administration and operations. Her passion for mission-driven work is what inspired her to join Powerful Children Colombia. She will help our team identify and manage current and future partnerships in Colombia and will help us execute operational rigor across the board. "I am happy to join the Powerful Children Colombia team to help improve the lives of Colombian children who need it most. I will do my best to contribute to the success of our mission to improve the lives of Colombian children and help them have brighter future."

"My name is Julian Mesa, resident and native of Colombia. I'm inspired by a vision of a world full of solidarity and service where we support each other as a community in order to progress together towards a better future. I am an athlete who practices finswimming and through this sport have broken barriers and shifted my own mindset on what I am capable of, which for many might feel inaccessible due to invisible limitations or walls. Powerful Children Colombia bets on children, sports, and culture. In my experience, becoming an athlete was the element that gave me a balanced life, and that, combined with my profession that I love so much, has taught me discipline, perseverance, and the ability to strive for unimaginable goals.
