“Pedalea con Conciencia” (Pedal with Conscience) is a program that combines athletics with social empowerment. This program supports the development of a mountain biking school in Cabrera, Santander, where children learn athletic skills and receive mental health support. Children are given bikes, receive support from athletic and mental health coaches, and have an opportunity to build community while learning the ins and outs of competitive cycling. To participate in the program, participants must be enrolled in school. This program aims to provide children with an experience meant to support and encourage them in their educational, athletic, and personal development toward embracing their individual power and potential.

Phase 1 of this program launched summer 2022 and we are excited to launch Phase 2 Fall 2023, with an added art program to enable creativity, collaboration, and community. We are also expanding the program to 10 additional children (30 total), with a focus on diversifying the current cohort.
